Kennedy Space Center
Wednesday May 7th 9 a.m.-7 p.m.
This is the only day we didn't make any plans. We thought we would just lay around and relax and probably head to the beach. Then Aaron surprised us with a trip to the Kennedy Space Center. It was worth it. We touched a moon rock, saw the Saturn V rocket, took a detailed tour of the grounds including an up close look at the launch pads. It was amazing. We saw an Atlantis presentation and looked at the original Atlantis shuttle. We took a ride in a launch simulator astronauts say is the closest to real life they've ever experienced. Took time to watch the original launch to the moon in the command center, and saw two incredible IMAX movies. One of them showing 3D images from the Hubble telescope. There was also a little time spent in the Angry Birds play area. We finished up the day playing at the playground close to the entrance and squeezing in a little shopping as well. A great full day of exploration.
