Aubrey turned eleven. I can't believe how grown up she is getting. She got a rock excavation kit, a microscope, and a diorama design kit. She had her eyes tested at an optometrists and we found out she is severely near sighted.
We had a great trip to Nauvoo. It was so wonderful to see all the sites and all the history. We were able to stay in a small cabin called The Sanders. It was a great break from the daily routine of life. We had a really nice Thanksgiving dinner there as well. I was particularly touched by the Trail of Hope. We took a carriage ride down the trail, there was a bitter cold wind whipping around my face and I remember looking back at the temple and just feeling the overwhelming sorrow the saints must have felt. But also the hope they must have had for their future. I felt so much love for them as I realized how much suffering they went through to keep their faith. I was inspired, and strengthened in my own faith.
Thanksgiving was also a wonderful experience. We all shared something we were thankful for and Aaron surprised us all when he shared what he is thankful for about each one of us. That really touched my heart as I realized that he does notice what each of us does for the family.
