Charlie and the Chocolate Factory Party

Over the course of about a month our family read "Charlie and The Chocolate Factory."  We loved the book and when we finished we decided to have a party and watch the movie.  We had a great time playing Wonka's Cake Walk and Charlies musical chairs.  The kids loved finding the golden ticket under their chairs and under the colored slip of paper when the music stopped.  After our games we had some Wonka Chocolates and candies (gobstopers, nerds, sprees, and taffy).   While enjoying our delicious candies we watched the 1971 version of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.  The kids noticed right away the differences from the book but they still enjoyed it.  It was so much fun.  I had never read the story myself and thought it a great read, so creative and imaginative.  My five year old son couldn't stop talking about being a good boy so Mr. Wonka would give him a chocolate factory. Soooo cute!
